Why Worry?

Why do people worry? I ask myself this question countless times during the course of a day; but the answers typically end up being the same; because problems often times come unannounced and it's only natural to worry. Worry in my definition is an unnecessary thought or feeling used to distract the mind and self from any other important task.

Worry contributes to increase in mental health disorders, relationship problems and activities of one's daily living. Let's face it, worry only makes whatever the problem(s) is worse. While under the hypnosis of worry, most people are unable to make sound decisions due to being held captive by the thought of the problem. While worrying may be a natural emotion, it can be managed in a way to distract unhealthy thinking, feelings or irrational behaviors.

Will worrying make the problem better or even disappear? Not even in a dream will this
happen. How do I not worry when faced with a problem? I will never say to ignore a problem; but evaluating the problem to see what can be done to either lessen it or perhaps stop the worry is essential. Ask yourself, what is the problem? How do I fit into this problem? What can I do at this moment or within a certain time frame to alleviate the problem that causes me to worry? What affect will this have on me and my family? If I ignore this problem, what will the consequences be? Of course, there are many more probing questions that can be asked when it comes to problem solving but these are just a few to get you started. The key is to remember that worry causes many psychological issues and awareness is important to combating this thing called worry. Happiness and worry
resides on opposite ends of the street so chose which end the street you'll like to reside. It's simple as this, chose this day whether to worry or not to worry.

Points to remember:
Worry is the abnormal yet normal way of thinking.
Worry causes major health issues if left untreated.
Worry can be alleviated through effective use of problem solving tactics.
Don't worry! Be happy is a true saying.

Worry is in the hands of the beholder as well as happiness being in the hands of the beholder.
